Celebrate NC Via Local Products at 501!
Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, is National NC Day! We’re proud NC’ers and have so much love for the state and all the amazing businesses that call it home. In honor of the holiday, we’re highlighting some local NC-made products we carry here at 501 Pharmacy. Be sure to pick them up when you stop in this month—and beyond!
Cackalacky
The “famously original” brand is known for its delicious sauces, which we carry right here at the pharmacy! There are two different kinds: Carolina Tar Heels BBQ (go, UNC!) and Cackalacky Cheerwine Sweet Sauce. Both are great for lathering up meats or topping burgers or pizza. Cackalacky also offers salted peanuts and even a special beer!
Pecandied
If you love pecans, you’ll love Pecandied. Seriously, we’re obsessed with this snack! The local small business features an addicting Cinna-Shugs flavor that coats pecans in maple syrup, organic cane sugar, cinnamon, and pink Himalayan salt. Try and stop yourself from eating the whole bag in one sitting!
The Elderberry Lady Syrup
Once you try it, you’ll want to put it in everything! Not to mention elderberry is rich in nutrients and antioxidants, containing compounds that help boost the immune system and fight off infections. It’s great to have around as we head into flu season!
King’s Road Apiary Honey
Sweeten up your coffee, tea, smoothies, and more with this local honey! Pro tip: A small spoonful of honey provides a great pre-workout jolt without the negative long-term effects of caffeine. Try it for yourself for a quick boost!
Maple View Farm Ice Cream
Our ice cream counter consistently serves up ice cream from Maple View Farm, with a rotation of flavors on the regular—from strawberry and mint chocolate chip to Carolina Crunch and banana pudding. Even as the weather starts to cool, ice cream is always a good idea! See our current flavors here.
