501 x SNPhA UNC Health Screening
501 in the community! We recently partnered with UNC’s Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) to hold a health screening event where they performed blood pressure and blood sugar screenings free of charge. SNPhA is made up of pharmacy students who are interested in and passionate about health issues among underserved patient populations. Part of their purpose includes organizing, coordinating, and executing programs that improve the health, education, and social environment of minority communities.
It was a pleasure for us to join them in their goals by hosting this free health screening event! It’s important for everyone to be aware of their current health and understand what they may need to be doing or stop doing to improve their overall wellness.
Furthermore, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings are crucial to detect potential serious health conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. If you catch these early enough, you can significantly reduce the risk of complications like heart disease, stroke, kidney damage, and vision loss, and enable timely treatment. Essentially, early detection can potentially save your life!
