Get Your Vaccinations at 501 Pharmacy!

While “sick season” may be relatively over, there’s never a bad time to re-up on your vaccinations to protect yourself and stay healthy throughout the year. We offer a variety of immunizations and vaccines—often at a fraction of the cost of visiting your doctor’s office! Here are some of our most highly requested vaccines and why you should make an appointment to get them.

COVID-19 Vaccine

Coronavirus has not gone away! There are still several people contracting the virus each and every day. You can better protect yourself from catching it from others by keeping up with your booster shots. Additionally, we recently secured a bunch of at-home COVID tests from the state that we can give away for FREE while supplies last.

Flu Shot

While most people commonly catch the flu during the fall and winter, there’s still a chance you can come down with it in the summertime. It’s also more common to catch if you’ve been traveling, which many people do so during these hot months.

Tdap

The Tdap vaccine protects against three potentially life-threatening bacterial diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, which are dangerous, life-threatening diseases. The booster shot is typically given to children at the age of 11 or 12 years old.

Tetanus Series Shots

If it’s been 10 years since your last tetanus shot, it’s time to get a booster! The shot protects you from tetanus, a dangerous infection contracted by puncture woods (from, say, a nail or needle breaking the skin), burns, crush injuries, and wounds contaminated by dirt. There’s no cure for tetanus, so it’s important to get the booster before any of these injuries occur.

Shingles Vaccine

It’s recommended that adults 50 years and older get the shingles vaccine to protect themselves against this common disease, which can result in a painful rash with blisters, followed by chronic pain and other complications.

Pneumonia Vaccine

According to the CDC, about 320,000 people get pneumococcal pneumonia each year. The disease is most common in children under 2 years old, people with certain underlying medical conditions, adults ages 65+, and people who smoke cigarettes.
