Happy New Year from all of us at 501 Pharmacy! With COVID-19 cases still on the rise, we are keeping our front door closed to walk-in traffic. Please continue to use our drive-thru and delivery services and keep reading to see what is happening at the pharmacy this month.
From all of us at 501 Pharmacy, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! As a reminder, we will be open on Christmas Eve from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., closed on Christmas Day, and closed on New Year’s Day, but we will be open throughout the holiday season to serve you.
As of June 5, 2020, we are still operating with drive-thru and delivery only at this time. We know how important is it that we stay healthy and keep you healthy and we feel this is the best way. We are now back to our normal hours of Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m, in the drive-thru. We are closed on Sunday.
Our staff is using masks and gloves and limiting contact at the drive-thru. We can assure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our employees and customers.
If you are in need of prescriptions or over-the-counter items prescribed during your telemedicine visit, we’ll deliver your medicines free-of-charge within Chapel Hill and Pittsboro.
Our deliveries go out once a day around 2 p.m. Please let us know 24 hours in advance for delivery if possible. We are not offering delivery on Saturdays.
We are selling scoops, pints, and quarts of Maple View Farm ice cream through the drive-thru! All orders will be taken over the phone between 9 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday. Simply give us a call at 984-999-0501 and let us know what time you will be coming to pick up your ice cream. Pickups will be from 1 until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Prepay via credit card, give us your name at the drive-thru and we’ll retrieve it from the freezer. We will not be accepting orders on Saturdays as we close at noon.
Supplies such as masks, isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, aloe vera gel, gloves, pulse oximeters, and thermometers are on limited supply. We are doing everything we can to keep them in stock. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Nextdoor to keep up to date with what we have in stock.
We are now able to lift the five masks maximum per order to one full box of 50 masks per transaction while supplies last!

Now is the best time to check your supplements and stay healthy! Anything to boost your immune system is helpful. We recommend vitamin C, echinacea, elderberry, and zinc, to name a few. These items are also available at the drive-thru. For elderberry, we carry products from The Elderberry Lady and Jenn’s Ultimate Elderberry Syrup.
Previously called the 501 Pharmacy App, we have switched over to the RxLocal App to make things easier for our patients and to provide you with even more benefits! The RxLocal App brings the best features of 501 Pharmacy right to the palm of your hand. With the app, you are able to order and manage you and your family’s medications, text our pharmacy team, set reminders to pick up or request refills, and more! Convenience is key and our patient app makes it easier for you to interact with 501 Pharmacy from all your smart devices.

In January 2001, Maple View Ice Cream opened its doors on New Year’s Day. To this day, those doors remain open! The idea for making delicious homemade ice cream came from Robert Nutter, the founder of Maple View Farm, and his daughter, Muffin Nutter Brosig. With the success of bottling fresh Maple View Farm milk, Muffin and her father decided that the community would appreciate and enjoy fresh local ice cream. After going to ice cream school at Penn State, their dream became a reality. Muffin and her father believed that premium ice cream must be hand-crafted in smaller batches and made with the freshest cream and highest quality ingredients available. They decided to use as many local ingredients as possible, local berries, North Carolina pecans, Orange County honey and cream from the cows grazing in the pastures of Maple View Farm. For three years in a row, we have had the pleasure of hosting the kids from Primrose School of Chapel Hill at Briar Chapel Summer Camp for ice cream every Friday at 501 Pharmacy. It is always so much fun to have them come by and we love working with the summer camp to provide a fun field trip for their participants.
