Mission Trip Fundraiser

March 13, 2019 By Han Su

Han Su’s wife Kristy Su (Nurse Practitioner at Carolina Convenient Care) and their daughter, Abigail Su, are raising money to go on a mission trip this summer to Costa Rica. They will be working in the community and helping children and families in need with their church, Cornerstone Presbyterian.

One of the things they are doing to raise money is selling unique bracelets that were made in the Philippines. The bracelets are two dollars a piece. One dollar will go directly to their mission trip and the other dollar will go to help children in the Philippines.

If you would like to purchase one or a few, stop by Carolina Convenient Care or 501 Pharmacy. If you would just like to partner and support them without buying a bracelet, that is completely welcome, too.

Thank you, for your time and support!

Stay Safe This Fourth of July

June 25, 2018 By Han Su

Whether you are hitting the beach or having a backyard barbecue, 501 Pharmacy hopes you have a safe and happy Independence Day. We will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, but will resume our normal hours on Thursday, July 5.

A couple of years ago, the Red Cross issued a great list of safety tips for the fourth of July, that are still very relevant today. You can see the full list here but below we have highlighted some key points to help keep you and your family safe this holiday.

Fireworks Safety

  • Never give fireworks to small children, and always follow the instructions on the packaging.
  • Keep a supply of water close by as a precaution.
  • Make sure the person lighting fireworks always wears eye protection.
  • Light only one firework at a time and never attempt to relight “a dud.”
  • Store fireworks in a cool, dry place away from children and pets.
  • Never throw or point a firework toward people, animals, vehicles, structures or flammable materials.
  • Leave any area immediately where untrained amateurs are using fireworks.

Grilling Safety

  • Always supervise a barbecue grill when in use.
  • Never grill indoors – not in your house, camper, tent, or any enclosed area.
  • Make sure everyone, including the pets, stays away from the grill.
  • Keep the grill out in the open, away from the house, the deck, tree branches, or anything that could catch fire.
  • Use the long-handled tools specially made for cooking on the grill to keep the chef safe.
  • Never add charcoal starter fluid when coals have already been ignited.

Water Safety

  • Never leave your child unattended around water.
  • Only allow your children to swim in designated areas supervised by lifeguards or a responsible adult.
  • If you have a young child or inexperienced swimmer, have them wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket. Even if a child is wearing a life-jacket, they should still never be left unattended.
  • Adults should not swim while tired or intoxicated.
  • Adults should use the buddy system and never swim alone.

We hope you have a great holiday! Don’t forget, we will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.

Carolina Convenient Care vs. 501 Pharmacy in the Four Mile Race at the Tar Heel 10 Miler

April 11, 2018 By Han Su

It all started with a call out on Facebook…

Kristy Su from Carolina Convenient Care challenged her neighbor and husband Han Su to a race – but not just any race! The pair will be competing against each in the four-mile run at the Tar Heel 10 Miler & Fleet Feet Sports Four Mile Run on April 21, 2018, in Chapel Hill.

Kristy noted that Han has been so busy getting the pharmacy running that he has not done a great job of taking care of himself this year, so she did something about it! Kristy not only signed Han up for the run but she has challenged him to a race!

Han’s Reaction

Han accepted the challenge, and the race was on!
