We are excited to announce that at 501 Pharmacy we have the ability to administer the new shingles vaccine, Shingrix. The shingles vaccination is the only way to protect against shingles.
Flu Shots Are in at 501 Pharmacy
It’s flu season which means it is time to get your shot! Make it a family affair and get everyone vaccinated. At 501 Pharmacy we are able to administer flu shots to patients 14 and up. We currently have plenty of flu shots available including high dose shots for those 64 years and up. For patients that are under 14, our next door neighbor, Carolina Convenient Care, can administer shots to those who are six months and up.

At 501 Pharmacy, we are able to keep our prices low by being a member of a buying group that negotiates pricing for independent pharmacies. Our prices are competitive and many times cheaper than other pharmacies including the big box retailers. At 501 Pharmacy, we don’t accept coupons because our prices are already so low that we usually beat the coupon price!
Generic Drugs
One way we help you save money is by providing a wide variety of generic drugs.
MedicineNet.com defines generic drugs as “copies of brand-name drugs that have exactly the same dosage, intended use, effects, side effects, route of administration, risks, safety, and strength as the original drug.”
Some people worry that generic drugs are not as safe as brand-name drugs, however, the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) requires that generic drugs be as safe and effective as brand-name drugs.
The reason generic drugs are cheaper is that the manufacturers have not had the expenses of developing and marketing a new drug. The generic drugs go through all the same testing before they go on the market just like the brand-name drugs do.

It’s Not Too Late to Get Your Flu Shot
Have you gotten your flu shot? If not there is still time! Everyone who is six months or older should get the flu vaccine every season.
Influenza or the flu is a very serious disease that can lead to hospitalization or even death. Every flu season is unique and the flu affects everyone differently. Even a person who is very healthy can get sick from the flu or a flu-related illness and spread it to others.
Flu vaccinations last an entire year. We have regular and also high dose flu shots for patients 65 and over still available.
Stop by 501 Pharmacy Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., or on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., to get your flu shot with no appointment needed. Flu shots are just $35 for cash-paying patients and are free if you have Medicare B, TRICARE, or Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
