Capvaxive
The newest and greatest pneumonia vaccine is now available at 501 Pharmacy. Capvaxive is 21-valent vaccine, which means it protects against 21 strains of the bacteria that cause invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and pneumonia. Common side effects include injection site reactions, fatigue, and headache, but it is known to be generally well tolerated by most. We can administer this vaccine to patients 50 and older by protocol without a prescription, and only a single dose is needed.
Priorix
This vaccine helps protect against measles, mumps, and rubella (commonly abbreviated as MMR) for those 12 months of age and older. These cases have been increasing over the past few years, making this an important vaccine to have at 501 Pharmacy. The most common reactions include pain, redness, irritability, loss of appetite, drowsiness, and fever, and two doses are required. This is administered by appointment only, so be sure to book in advance!
